Our club was chartered in 1958, and continues to be an active "hands on" organization in the community. During the 2001 club year, we received the Mamie L. Bass Award.

Community Service Projects
   
The goal of our club is "Helping People Become Self-Sufficient". This is accomplished through the following service projects:  
 
► Literacy, including All Birthday Party for preschool children.
► Parent Enhancement Project in co-operation with the local PEP office.
► Career Closet for women entering or re-entering the workforce.  
► Habitat for the Humanity.  
► Educational Opportunity Program awards.

Sophie Wilson, a freshman in the College of Education who plans to become an elementary school teacher.

Lauren Forbes, a sophomore with a biology major and writing minor who plans to attend Medical School.
Cammila J. White, a junior who is earning a double degree in Earth Science and Elementary Education.
Lupe Diaz, a senior who is majoring in the Human development and Family Sciences Department.
Weston Kramer, a student in Automotive Repair at LBCC received the Continuing Education Scholarship.
Marla Solis, a senior at Crescent Valley High School who plans to attend LBCC this fall, received the Latina Scholarship.
